Antiquaria Journal Club | Week Fifty-Seven

Hey Journal Gang,

We are officially less than two weeks away from Christmas, and less than three weeks away from saying hello to 2021 (or rather, let's be real - goodbye to 2020). We’re flying on through this December. Hopefully all of your holiday planning and prep has been enjoyable and has brought some cheer into your days lately. It’s always lovely to have something joyous to look forward to and put energy into. What are you doing differently this year, celebration wise? It feels like a great year to get creative and start up a new tradition or two!

We are thinking of ways to lean into our crafty roots, using the materials and colors of the season as inspiration (we LOVE cute wrapping paper). We’ve also been having a blast with our Holiday Card exchange this year so far. It’s definitely not too late to join! Check out all the details here!

As we wind down towards the end of the year and approach the holidays, it feels like a slowed pace is on the horizon and new perspectives await. After such a crazy year, we’re looking forward to our winter break, taking time to reflect, rest, be with family and having extra time to experiment with all of our favorite indoor hobbies. Simply put, we're assessing how to end 2020 on a positive note, with mindfulness, self-care and intentional choices.

What are your priorities over these next few weeks? What are you most looking forward to? What are your plans for winter break, and how would you like to feel as you enter the new year? Take some time to envision yourself in the best place, for you - what does that look like?

No matter what your goals, priorities and to-dos are this week, we hope you find yourself feeling centered, confident, creative and content.

Happy Journaling!

xoxo

Antiquaria Journal Club | Week Fifty-Four

Hey Journal Gang,

Happy Monday, and welcome to the week of Thanksgiving! One of the coziest (and busiest!) weeks of the year. We always look forward to this holiday. All of the traditional foods and sharing them together - what could be better? This year of course, (saying this yet again!) it’s going to be a bit different than we’re accustomed to. Smaller celebrations, staying closer to home, and perhaps even some changes to the menu. That being said, just because it’s different, doesn’t mean it can’t still be special! How are you planning to make Thanksgiving 2020 memorable, despite the circumstances? What dish are you most excited to make? Let us know in the comments!

We’ve been thinking a lot about gratitude, how our perceptions have changed throughout this year and the importance of finding reasons to be grateful, even in (especially in) challenging times. Pondering the array of things we potentially took for granted in simpler times (sorry for anything bad we said about you, 2019!), silver linings of this year in our lives, the importance of social relationships and keeping strong connections; the blessing of our most basic needs being met. All of these things come to mind! Being grateful isn’t blind to hardships or struggles; it’s more like seeing everything through a wide lens, and building a solid foundation of gratitude to weather through the storms.

How has this year changed your perception of the things in your life that you’re grateful for? What are you feeling most thankful for this week? It will be interesting to refer back to our entries from last Thanksgiving, and see how our new reflections compare. Take a few moments this week and enjoy spending time with your journal.

We hope that you have a wonderful, safe week full of rest, good food, gratitude and warm feelings.

Happy Journaling and Happy Thanksgiving!

xoxo
