SO INSPIRED | Folk Fibers

Being lovers of all things hand-crafted, it's no wonder we are swooning over the work of (fellow Austin dweller) Maura Grace Ambrose of Folk Fibers. Her fabrics are hand dyed using natural dyes such as Walnut wells, Cochineal and Indigo and each quilt is totally hand stitched. We love this modern take on old-world techniques. Bonus! She was just feature in the latest Martha Stewart Living!
Congrats Maura!

Don't you just love that wooden box that each quilt come in? Simply gorgeous.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

As a calligrapher, I follow lots of lettering boards and groups. This awesome trailer popped up on my Facebook feed and after watching it, I can't wait to see the entire film.

So Inspired | Alys Fowler

image via here

Gardening author and plant aficionado Alys Fowler has recently caught my attention after finding this beautifully produced video on YouTube.

Rarely do I see something that I crave more and more of...but this beautiful series is so inspiring that I find myself digging for more videos of this red headed beauty.

There are other episodes in the series...each better and more inspiring than the last

Besides books, she also writes a gardening column for The Guardian. I can't wait to dig in!

So Inspired | Yokoo

I recently stumbled across the Etsy shop of Yokoo and her clothing line Mother. The styles are so visually refreshing to me in their simplicity and functionality.

She's also created the most beautiful video for Etsy.

So Inspired | Winter Bright

Today I opened the mailbox to find the newest issue of Martha Stewart Living. The cover put a smile on my face - love the yellow and teal color combo! Reading it will be my special treat when the craziness of this week quiets down.

So Inspired | Office Space

Since Bailey moved to Pasadena a couple of weeks ago, we've both had an opportunity to re-organize our studio spaces. We love our work spaces to have lots of natural light and ample storage.
Since it's been on my mind this week, I thought I'd share some studio inspiration.

So Inspired | Margaret Armstrong's illustrations

During a recent visit with my family, my mother sent me home with a box of old books to use as props in our photo shoots. As I was browsing through them I discovered a tattered little green book called Western Wild Flowers by Margaret Armstrong. To my great joy, I discovered pages and pages of gorgeous botanical illustrations by the author. The book was originally published in 1915 and I found my grandmother's name and address on the inside cover which was dated 1921. She made notes in the margins of all the flowers she found on her adventures. I like to imagine Grandmother, roaming Southern California, enjoying the flowers along the way. Below are some of the lovely pages from the book.
