Calligraphy Tutorial: the Capital Letter "A"

How did all of you do with the lowercase alphabet last week? GOOD?
We certainly hope so!

We're back today with your very FIRST capital letter! Wahoo! Gorgeous letter "A."
Using the same pressure technique that we discussed last week, you'll follow the exemplar arrows (from left to right) to form all of your A's. Plus we added in a little (season appropriate may we add) word so that you could see how to situate your newly-learned letter into a word!

Due to their size (height and width), capital letters can be a little harder to make than their lowercase counterparts. If you're just starting our on your calligraphic journey...you may want to hang out with your lowercase friends for a while before diving into the world of CAPS.

You're a dare-devil you say? (We are too)!
Jump right in...there's no harm in trying. Plus, practice makes pretty!

Peace, love and letters,
Emma & Bailey

    1. Laura,

      Oh my gosh! How exciting:)
Calligraphy tutorial posts will be every Tuesday. We're going to go through all of the capitals first...but numbers does seem like a logical next step! Great idea!!

I'd also recommend looking at our resources guide for a couple awesome books and other sites to help you as you develop your new skill! http://antiquariavintage.blogspot.com/2013/10/calligraphy-tutorial-calligraphy.html

Keep us posted on your practice! We'd love to see how you're doing.
